As a part of project, working on PolyQ diseases ( heriditary neurodegenerative diseases) we initially tried to establish Drosophila ( fruit fly) model of Huntington’s disease (HD) and spinocerebellar ataxia type3 (SCA3) ; HD and SCA3 are diseases that affect the nervous system and result in fatal physical and mental dysfunction. The main objective is to use sick flies as patients to examine potential therapeutic compounds and genetic modifiers in order to treat the disease condition and investigate the cure for patients to improve their quality of life.
